Adults with type 1 diabetes are being invited to “speak openly” about their experiences of the condition at a special event next week.

Diabetes UK is hosting an event for anyone over the age of 18 in an attempt to tackle type 1 diabetes head-on.

Attendees will hear what care, research and support options are available to them when they return to their routine.

The event, held at West Ham Football Club on Saturday, June 11 will feature a host of workshops to address the impact the condition can have on everyday life, as well as an ‘ask the clinician’ panel session.

Roz Rosenblatt, London head for Diabetes UK, said: “This event is a great opportunity for adults to speak openly about their experiences of living with type 1 diabetes, as well as get up-to-date information and speak to experts in the field.

“We understand that cost can be an issue and therefore have a bursary scheme available for some adults who need it.”

Tickets for the event cost £10.00 and include lunch and snacks throughout the day, with funding options available for people who need it.
