Diabetes and pancreatic cancer the focus of educational presentation

A diabetes specialist nurse and a pancreatic specialist dietitian delivered an educational session on the two conditions last month.

Vicki Alabraba and Laura McGeeney hosted the informative presentation on diabetes and pancreatic cancer virtually on Wednesday, January 24.

They took a deep dive into type 3c diabetes, discussing the potential causes, characteristics and diagnosis of the condition.

In addition, they explored how it is different from type 1 and 2, therapeutic and nutritional management options, impact on treatment options and managing these, as well as managing diabetes at the end of life.

During the session, they also discussed case studies and shared tips to help healthcare professionals support those living with the conditions.
