Diabetes forum reaches new milestone
The UK’s largest community website and forum for people living with diabetes has reached more than 200,000 likes on Facebook.
With daily news updates, information on diabetes management, cookbooks, and general supportive messages, the social media page provides support and motivation.
The Diabetes.co.uk forum, which has more than 150,000 members, aims to raise awareness of diabetes and reduce suffering through providing a range of information. It is a platform to talk, share stories and gain peer support.
Arjun Panesar, from Diabetes.co.uk, said: “Health sites and social media pages can be boring, dull and also a little depressing, but Diabetes.co.uk have changed that! The forum, Facebook, and knowledge of diabetes has grown dramatically in recent years, it is no longer a chore to search for information.
“We are delighted that the Diabetes.co.uk Facebook page has reached 200,000 likes. The Diabetes.co.uk Facebook page engages with over four million people a month – and engages with a demographic that health services are finding increasingly difficult to engage with, so we’re proud to have the largest diabetes Facebook community in Europe.”
