Established paediatrician features in latest Diabetes Times podcast

Episode 12 of the Talking Diabetes podcast hears from Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist Professor May Ng OBE, who speaks about her remarkable work in the field of diabetes.

The Talking Diabetes series features leading healthcare professionals and academics as they share their expertise and thoughts on the hot topics from the world of diabetes.

During the episode, Professor Ng speaks about her involvement with Action4Diabetes, where she is currently a Trustee.

Professor Ng also shares how she began working in the field of diabetes and what research projects she is currently work on.

In addition, she reveals how her children influenced her career path and how she felt when she was awarded an OBE.

In this podcast episode, Professor Ng also speaks about her popular book on type 1 diabetes technology.

She said: “I wanted to write this book from the start when technology became so important in many people’s lives. I couldn’t find a book that put it all in an easy-to-read manner, so I thought let’s have a go.

“These [diabetes technology] are becoming part and parcel of our lives for those looking after people with diabetes.”

She added: “To understand diabetes technology can be daunting. So, the book covers a lot of technology but it covers all the basics as well.”

Professor Ng is a Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist, an Honorary Professor at Edge Hill University and an Associate Professor at the University of Liverpool.
