LECTURE: Understanding Diabetic Eye Disease: Detection and Management

Diabetes is a growing problem within the UK, with 6% of the population now diagnosed as diabetic. With diabetic eye disease being the most common cause of blindness within the working age population, it is critical that optometrists pick up sight threatening disease and refer accordingly. During this lecture Professor Paulo Stanga will review the signs and classification of diabetic eye disease, with reference to fundus examination and OCT findings. Current treatment guidelines will be discussed, along with emerging therapies.
