Transforming Diabetes Care: Shared Learning, South East Coast

February 23, 2017

Free

This free event from Diabetes UK aims to share good practice and learning from across the country in the design of diabetes services.

The event is aimed at Commissioners and Healthcare Professionals involved in the design of services for people with diabetes, including:

  • Clinical and Non-Clinical Commissioners within CCGs
  • Senior Clinicians including Consultants, Lead Dieticians, Podiatrists, Psychologists and DSNs.
  • GPs and Nurses with Special Interest in Diabetes.
  • Managers within provider organisations.
  • Other professionals interested in the design of services for people with diabetes.

Diabetes is a life changing condition for the almost 4 million people across England with the condition. It is complex, requiring careful self-management from people with diabetes and input from many different professionals across the NHS.

There is significant variation nationally, regionally and locally in the quality of care people with diabetes receive and the likelihood of experiencing a complication. It is vital that the NHS is set up to deliver high quality care, to improve the quality of life for people with diabetes and to reduce the financial burden on the NHS.

The sessions are focussed on practical issues, giving you the opportunity to hear about what has or hasn’t worked well in the past, what the challenges were and tips on overcoming them.
