A conference being organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes taking place in December aims to bring together leading minds in care and research into the condition.

The International Diabetes Summit will be held in Thursday, December 13, in the House of Commons from 10am to 4pm.

The event will bring together high-level representatives from around the UK and the world to discuss diabetes.

It aims to:

  • To share knowledge and best practice among a wide variety of stakeholders
  • To look at diabetes with an international perspective, and learn from other countries different ways to manage the causes and effects of the condition
  • To understand the global fight against urban diabetes with research from cities changing diabetes

Sessions will look at diabetes best practice, innovation and prevention, Cities Changing Diabetes and how diabetes expertise can be exported.

Cyclist Sam Brand from Team Novo Nordisk, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 10, will be attending.
