Vascular surgeon and specialist podiatrist wanted for NICE guideline update

An appeal has been made for members to join a NICE diabetes suite committee to update a guideline on diabetic foot problems.

NICE is looking for:

• Diabetes specialist podiatrist or podiatrist with an interest and/or experience in the management of diabetes related foot problems
• Vascular surgeon with an interest or experience in the management of diabetes related foot problems.

Members would need to commit to between 10 months and a year to work on the Diabetic foot problems: prevention and management (update).

The guidance will partially update Diabetic foot problems: prevention and management (NG19), which aims to reduce variation in practice, including antibiotic prescribing for diabetic foot infections.

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
