Views sought on latest CGM and type 2 diabetes audits
Healthcare professionals are invited to take part in two nationwide audits collecting data about the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in people living with type 2 diabetes.
The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) has launched audits on the FreeStyle Libre and Dexcom CGM systems.
Since 2018, the ABCD has been running an audit of FreeStyle Libre use, which has been very informative and led to several excellent publications.
The audit so far has mostly been in people with type 1 diabetes, and the ABCD is now keen to understand the impact in type 2 diabetes. It is now auditing both FreeStyle Libre and Dexcom CGM systems.
The audits will demonstrate outcomes of this new technology adoption to decision makers and will inform future decision making.
