17th Annual Conference of the South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF):Tools for addressing the burden of diabetes in the South Asian community
October 13, 2016 @ 8:30 am - October 14, 2016 @ 4:00 pm
A two-day meeting that has been tailored specifically to help healthcare professionals in the UK striving to deliver the best possible care for south Asian people with diabetes.
Whether you are working in a primary, intermediate or secondary care setting, the conference will be relevant to your everyday practice.
Delegates will benefit from an interactive mixed-format learning experience – covering a breadth of topics – via plenary lectures, clinical updates and interactive masterclasses, each aimed at providing practical guidance based on the best available evidence.
This year, our theme is about addressing the burden of diabetes in the south Asian community through effective prevention and supportive intervention throughout the life-course. We will be covering diabetes in the young and during pregnancy as well as dietary advice and complication management and treatment, which are applicable to all. We will also be discussing what the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme and latest international and national guidelines mean for clinical practice. Finally, we are delighted to have Dr Parth Narendran delivering the keynote lecture on type 1 diabetes in the south Asian population.
We have 2 days packed with must-attend sessions that are sure to help you in everyday clinical practice. We very much hope to see you there.
