Spirit Health is giving Diabetes Specialist Nurses (DSNs) and primary care teams the opportunity to reduce workload pressures and improve glucose management outcomes through a free, hands-on CareSens Air Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) experience, supported by structured nurse-led onboarding.

The initiative directly addresses a key challenge in diabetes care – how to confidently adopt CGM technology while managing increasing clinical demand. By experiencing the device themselves, DSNs can embed CGM into routine practice with clarity and confidence.

Designed to support DSNs and reduce operational burden, the trial programme allows healthcare teams to gain practical insight into glucose trend interpretation, patient education conversations and data-led treatment decisions – strengthening confidence in recommending CGMs to people living with diabetes.

Alongside the device sample, healthcare professionals will be introduced to Spirit Health’s CGM support service, a structured model created to streamline onboarding, improve engagement and reduce avoidable follow-up appointments.

The service provides CareSens Air CGM on prescription, supported by expert onboarding delivered through live, nurse-led online sessions designed to accelerate confident use from day one. Ongoing clinical support is provided through regular data review, personalised insulin advice where appropriate and access to telephone support.

Clare Leek, Marketing and Product Manager at Spirit Health, said: “Providing healthcare professionals with the opportunity to experience the CGM first-hand is an important step in supporting confident adoption in clinical practice.

“By experiencing CareSens Air first-hand and seeing how our structured support service works in practice, teams can confidently introduce CGM in a way that improves patient engagement, supports data-led decisions and meaningfully reduces workload across primary care.”

CareSens Air is a 15-day wearable CGM that delivers real-time glucose readings directly to a smartphone. Designed to be discreet, comfortable and simple to use, the device enables continuous access to glucose data, supporting earlier identification of trends and more informed therapeutic conversations between clinicians and people living with diabetes.

DSNs and primary care professionals can register now to access a free CareSens Air experience and onboarding session. Places are limited and onboarding sessions are filling quickly.
