Type 2 diabetes prevention programme launches knowledge base
Resources aimed at supporting the delivery of the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) have been shared through a new online hub.
The NHS DPP is a joint commitment from NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK to identify those at high risk of type 2 diabetes and refer them onto a behaviour change programme.
The NHS DPP Knowledge Base is now available in a bid to share good practice and information and support the effective delivery of the programme.
NHS England has been working with Diabetes UK over the past few months to build the hub as part of the professionals section on charity’s website.
The content currently includes key information about the NHS DPP, including:
- Resources on the rationale, procurement, information governance and data
- Useful advice for local health Economies in preparing to mobilise and implement the Programme
- Hints, tips and case studies to help improve the service
In an NHS DPP update, NHS England said: “We are now working on the second phase of delivery and regular updates to the content are planned to include details of learning and sharing webinars, case studies and new information around the New Framework Procurement.”
