NHS England launches type 1 diabetes resource
A new online information resource for people with type 1 diabetes has been launched by NHS England.
It was created in collaborative with Diabetes UK and a group of people who have the condition and, as well as providing a bank of information and advice, it also signposts to other useful websites.
Housed on the NHS.uk website, the information hub covers access to support, including groups, social media, helplines and how to get psychological therapy services.
There is also a section called ‘newly diagnosed – things to help’, which includes how to inject insulin, how to check your blood glucose levels and check ups and appointments.
Further sections explain type 1 diabetes – covering symptoms and getting diagnosed as well as children – and living with the condition. Managing insulin and blood glucose levels are also covered, with an introduction to counting carbohydrates included.

It seems a very ‘dry’ way to learn about the art and science of living with diabetes
